Do You Know Those Lyrics?

I can barely understand what the heck a lot of lyrics are when I first listen to a song.  I basically just listen for the usual curse words before I proclaim the song worthy to be played in front of kids.

But, I’ve recently realized that I don’t go far enough.  Take for instance the song Crank Dat by Soulja Boy.  Simple song about Superman & dancing?  Not quite.  Like a lot of songs, words might have a much different meaning to a different audience.

Before we start just playing songs that sound okay, it’d be a good idea to not only listen to the words, but to ask what those words might mean.  The Urban Dictionary is a great resource for that.  You might be surprised!
