I’m a little behind the times and played my first game of cornhole during a tailgate party at last years Florida/Georgia game. (This picture has nothing to do with cornhole, but it was my favorite image during the game. I saw it a lot.)
Anyway, Cincinatti YL is having a cornhole tournament to raise money for kids to go to camp. Seems like a fun idea, so I thought I’d share it with you.
I’m going to open myself up to ridicule by my friends again and ask for other tournament ideas. Just leave a comment. Every time I do this, the “comment” button stays on zero and I look like a complete idiot, because it shows nobody really reads this stuff.
Here’s a little blogging humor - my wife spotted a shirt this weekend while we were at Sea World. It read “Nobody Cares About Your Blog!” That’s harsh but hit home. I know Mike Cares. Thanks for all the comments, dude.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackChris- Thanks for the encouragement and the for the post about our tourney. Also I check your blog often and have found it to be great for helping me with Young Life.
As for other tourney ideas besides a cornhole tourney I have seen a dodgeball tourney done, and euchre (the card game) tourneys. The YL area just north of us also does a 5k run every year. They call it the doughnut dash and have doughnuts there for everyone. Hope this gets some ideas flowing for you.
Dodgeball is a great idea. We do it at my school as a Prom fund-raiser and make over $3000 in about two hours. Teams pay $30 to play ($5 per person) and spectators pay $5. Then we make a little off concessions. It’s a lot of fun.
As for euchre, my family is from Indiana & I’ve heard my grandparents mention it. Down south, though, hearing that word just reminds us of Mr. Belvedere.
Some areas down here do skeet shooting tournaments.
